Google Ads management

Google Ads built around qualified enquiries.

I plan, build and optimise Google Ads campaigns so budget follows the searches and audiences that turn into real business conversations.

In practice

What this changes for your business.

Business value

Google Ads can put your offer in front of people looking for a relevant service, but paid traffic is only useful when it produces enquiries your team can handle and qualify. As your Google Ads consultant, I would connect campaign decisions to that commercial outcome rather than treating clicks or form submissions as sufficient evidence of success.

The service covers Search, Performance Max and remarketing. I would choose the mix around your offer, available budget, tracking readiness and customer journey—not launch every campaign type by default. Search provides a way to organise campaigns around search intent. Remarketing can support return visits where consent and audience eligibility allow. Performance Max offers broader distribution across Google's channels, with greater reliance on automated bidding and asset selection.

The practical value comes from reducing avoidable mismatches: searches for services you do not sell, ads pointing to unsuitable pages, and bidding systems learning from low-value actions. Clearer qualification also helps distinguish a cheap enquiry from a useful business conversation. These changes can support better spending decisions, but they cannot create demand for an uncompetitive offer or replace effective sales follow-up.

For a hypothetical commercial cleaning company, residential cleaning searches might generate enquiries that sales cannot use. I would investigate the actual search terms, add appropriate negatives, clarify the commercial-only offer in ads and align the landing page. I would then compare qualified enquiries, not assume that fewer submissions meant worse performance.

How I deliver: inputs, actions and outputs

I would start with access to Google Ads, GA4 and Google Tag Manager where applicable, alongside your landing pages, approved brand assets and existing reports. I would ask for service areas, exclusions, budget constraints, sales capacity and an agreed definition of a qualified lead. Your sales team would provide structured feedback on enquiry quality without placing personal details in analytics reports.

I would audit campaign structure, keywords, available search terms, negative keywords, location settings, budgets, bidding and conversion goals. The output would be an account plan explaining what I recommend retaining, changing or pausing, with proposed budget allocations and measurement targets. I would estimate a test budget from market conditions and available account data, making assumptions visible before you approve spending.

Tracking would come before scaling. I would test successful form submissions, distinguish phone-link clicks from measured calls, and check whether native Ads conversions and imported GA4 events count the same action twice. I would separate primary bidding goals from secondary diagnostic actions. The output would be a conversion map and verification notes, with unresolved gaps identified. Where sales-qualified outcomes can be connected back to campaigns, I would scope that connection with your CRM owner.

I would keep names, email addresses, phone numbers and free-text enquiries out of analytics events and check URLs for accidental leakage. I would coordinate consent defaults, updates and remarketing eligibility with your consent platform and privacy requirements. Consent mode configuration is a technical control, not a substitute for legal review.

For Search, I would group keywords and ads by distinct intent, select match types deliberately, write relevant copy and maintain negative keywords. For Performance Max, I would define conversion goals, organise asset groups and review audience signals, exclusions, destination settings and generated assets. Google's describes its cross-channel automation; audience signals guide learning rather than restrict delivery to those audiences. I would explain those control limits before launch.

I would review landing-page message match, mobile usability and form friction, then hand prioritised recommendations to your web team. Larger page builds, creative production and tracking remediation would be scoped explicitly. I would provide copy or asset briefs for approval and name the owner of each dependency.

Ongoing delivery would include weekly optimisation reviews of search terms, spend, bids, creative and lead-quality feedback. I would sequence tests rather than change multiple major variables together. Outputs would include managed campaigns, a change log, reporting and a prioritised next-test list.

How success is measured and boundaries

I would agree measurement definitions before launch. Core reporting would show spend, valid enquiries, qualified enquiries and cost per qualified lead: ad spend divided by attributed qualified leads for the stated period. Where reliable revenue data exists, I would also report downstream opportunities or revenue, noting sales-cycle delays and attribution limits.

Clicks, conversion rate and impression share would help diagnose performance, not replace commercial measures. Google identifies , not a KPI or auction input. I would use its components to investigate relevance and landing-page issues rather than chase the score itself.

I would explain discrepancies between Ads, GA4 and CRM reporting, including consent gaps, attribution settings and delayed qualification. Low volumes may leave tests inconclusive. Your team would retain responsibility for offer accuracy, approvals, privacy decisions and sales follow-up. Results depend on competition, budget, demand and execution; I would not guarantee lead volume, acquisition cost or return on ad spend.
